Trapped Admirals + Mecha Mecha + Emmett & Mabel to play Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane – February 11, 2015

Trapped Admirals
Head along to The Black Bear Lodge on February 11th 2015 and enjoy three of Australia’s hippest up and coming bands. Emmett and Mabel will be kicking off the show with their gritty, country blues. Following after will be Mecha Mecha, who boast a strong repertoire that varies in genre, mood and tone; with a sound kept recognizable and distinct due a strong gypsy and Hungarian folk musical core.

Headlining the show is local Brisbane band Trapped Admirals, who through the methods of thumping guitar riffs that will make you forget there’s no bass player and garage rock ferociousness, will ensure that you’re in for a foot stomping good time.

Through thumping guitar riffs that will make you forget there’s no bass player and garage rock ferociousness, Trapped Admirals will assure you’re in for a foot stomping good time.

Hailing from Brisbane, 5pc alt. rockers Mecha Mecha relish in the power of heavy-hitting, blues-inspired grooves that fuel the audiences into body thrashing frenzies. Along with frontman Walter’s childhood exposure to a myriad of Hungarian folk and traditional gypsy music, the band has distinct influences from prominent 90s bands such as Radiohead, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley and Nine Inch Nails. Mecha Mecha’s compositions fuse these ideas together with their characteristic instrumentation and melodic diversity; their sound is tonally shaped through violin, guitars, eclectic percussion and vocal harmonies to accompany their gutsy rhythm section.

The three characters that are the last left in the bar. The ones that sit in the dull light sipping scotch and champagne and talking about the gritty, dark and trampled things in life. The ones that strum the slightly off-tune dirty guitar, pass the three part harmonies over their vocal chords and push down to get the hard hit of the curly wurly. Fireball cinnamon whiskey shots a requirement.
