Tour News: Seekae East Coast Tour – August/September 2012 – More Shows Added!

No longer is Seekae Australia’s best-kept secret. Since the release of their second full-length album +Dome, Seekae have garnered praise and fans from around the world. In 2011, Seekae took their trademark live show to Japan, America, England and Europe. Returning home, this year, they sold out their Vivid Festival show at the Sydney Opera House – a performance featuring an 8-piece string ensemble.

The Vivid performance also saw Seekae introduce a new element to their songwriting and performance: lyrics and live vocals. To debut this new material, braving the winter-morning chill, Seekae and the Opera House team got together, at sunrise, in the Opera House’s Utzon Room to film the new track Yech. Yech represents a new direction for Seekae and confirms their ability to evolve while still maintaining their distinctive intricacy and originality.

This August and September you can catch Seekae performing tracks of new and old in a string of intimate Australian shows, with special guests KANGAROO SKULL and THOMAS WILLIAM.

** UPDATE ** Due to popular demand, Seekae will be playing a second Melbourne show at The Corner Hotel and a third Sydney show at The Basement, this August and September.

‘It’s a surprise that this album of sharp-edged, glacial, organic electronica, hails from sunny Sydney, Australia.’
★★★★ Mojo Magazine, Electronic Album of the Month

‘Their brand of electronica is Arcadian, full of gentle glitches and ethereal atmosphere – like the sort of thing you’d play at an Arbor Day celebration.’ – LA Times

‘Countless little sounds float around the tracks seemingly unhinged, yet the sum total grooves hard. The Sydney-born band’s three members are clearly virtuosos in the art of producing electronic music.’
– MTV Iggy’s 10 Game Changing Artists from Australia

‘Every song on +Dome is an adventure… The trio from Down Under took me up over the Sepulveda Pass every day this past week in a magical daze.’
– LA Music Blog

‘It’s a risky move to throw all your emotions at the wall like Seekae do when “Mingus” blooms into something gorgeous and open but they pull it off.’
– The Fader

‘Whether it’s the fact that Seekae are a band not a man or whether they’re just a bit better, we’re not sure, but +Dome glitches and crackles warmly with a far more human heart than most.’
★★★★ The Fly

‘#5 Seekae +Dome. This Australian trio really wowed me with their most recent album in which guitar riffs, bass grooves and laser beams collide.’
– LA Music’s Top Ten Avante Garde Releases of 2011
