Tour News: Fun Machine “Ready For The Fight” Tour | June-July 2012

Colourful Canberra trio, Fun Machine are back and are set to charm with their latest offering, “Ready For The Fight” following on from their debut EP, More is More (2009) and sophomore release, Desert Creatures (2011).

Known for their eclectic mix of unorthodox punk-pop sounds and honeyed harmonies, Fun Machine’s new work is more indicative than ever of the band’s ability to make relevant, raucous records with a penchant for pop.

Beats were born from kicking car hubcaps and the turning of metal handles, while the piano was recorded incognito on the Australian National University’s Steinway Concert Grand Piano after the band snuck into Llewellyn hall with their recording gear one evening.

Their joyful, energetic shows have seen the threesome invited to play alongside the likes of Architecture in Helsinki, Boy & Bear and Gotye. They are also known festival scenesters having played Groovin the Moo, Foreshore and Secret Garden. Living up to their reputation as a “band to watch”, Fun Machine were invited to share stage with dark-pop rockers The Darkness on the Canberra leg of their 2012 tour.

Serving up a unique combination of kitsch-pop-punk, Fun Machine will be celebrating the release of their new single throughout June and July, with an East Coast tour to cure even the wildest of winter blues.
