The Bloodpoets ‘Sunny Day’ Tour – October 2011

The power pop rockers, The Bloodpoets, are about to drop a new EP “Wings” to follow up their critically acclaimed full length album, “Polarity”. To celebrate this release, the Brisbane band will pack up their instruments and hit the road to play a run of shows. The live arena is where they shine, with a heavier, raw, infectious sound that comes out for everyone to dance along to.

The Bloodpoets have become a staple of the Brisbane music scene, performing on Festival stages and enduring heavy touring in Australia to great acclaim. They have supported some of Australia’s best and brightest from the Whitlams, the Panics, British India, and Trial Kennedy to Bluejuice.

They have received national and international acclaim with several songs from an album and EP over the past few years being played on Triple J, Triple M, and Channel V and also being synced to a number of TV shows (including Recruits and Bondi Rescue) and Quicksilver Pro webcasts. They also received the number 3 spot on Brisbane’s leading community radio station 4ZzZ Hot 100 for 2010, for the hit song “Dance”.

The first taste of the new EP sees the single “Sunny Day” continuing to showcase the band’s talents and diverse tastes – using trombones, trumpets and saxophones. It’s a playful number with its bass groove and irresistible brass strains. The rest of the EP continues the notion of diversity with each track exploring various sounds, textures and vibes and pulling it off to create a mixture of fun, excitement and all in all catchiness.

If you haven’t had the chance to experience their live set or want to experience it again, this October will be your chance to as they embark on an east coast tour to support the release of the new EP.

It won’t be just another sunny day, it will be a memorable one.
