Midnight Juggernauts make their Lifeblood Flow

Midnight Juggernauts return with their next single ’Lifeblood Flow’ from their highly acclaimed second album, The Crystal Axis. A dazzling lesson in how electronic-pop should be made, ’Lifeblood Flow’ is like something out of a 70s sci-fi epic – walls of sound and all. With a chorus so immediately affecting, it’s the track that will shape 2010 as Midnight Juggernauts’ biggest year yet.

In just a few week’s time, audiences can catch Midnight Juggernauts at venues across the country supported by Dappled Cities, Canyons and Kirin J Callinan. They’ll play Thursday 12 August at The Gov in Adelaide, Saturday 14 August at The Capitol in Perth, Thursday 19 August at The Forum in Melbourne, Friday 20 August at The Forum in Sydney, and Saturday 21 August at the Hi Fi in Brisbane.

ART vs SCIENCE Announce New Single and Tour – Aug/Sep 2010

Sydney’s ART vs SCIENCE have crammed the kind of heady ascent experienced by the luckiest of bands into a timeline that belies their few short years. From regional pubs to national festivals to…trains, the three-piece have built a massive following on the basis of two simple abiding principles:

In doing so they’ve become a live powerhouse; selling out shows, ascending to festival favourites the nation over, staying up all night and sometimes right into the morning and regularly arresting the eyes and ears of all who witness their peculiar brand of madness. Or as one international headliner recently squeezed: “how am I supposed to follow that?” Continue reading ART vs SCIENCE Announce New Single and Tour – Aug/Sep 2010

Train @ Enmore Theatre, Sydney Monday June 21, 2010 [Live Review]

Words and Pics: Ben Hosking – www.hoskingindustries.com.au
TrainHaving missed all but the closing bars of opening act, Victoria’s Ryan Meeking & The Few thanks to the perpetual and chronic lack of parking in Sydney’s Newtown and Enmore areas; I got into the warm and cosy confines of the iconic Enmore Theatre just before San Francisco chart botherers Train took to the stage.

Formed in 1994, the group shot to fame with their smash ‘Drops of Jupiter’ – a track that won them two Grammy awards and made the album double platinum in the US. After a three-year hiatus, the band returned with its latest album, ‘Save Me San Francisco’ in 2009 and is currently owning the Aussie charts with the single ‘Hey, Soul Sister’. Now that we all know who they are, it was a surprise to see the Enmore at less than capacity, considering that it isn’t the biggest venue in the city. Regardless, it was a pretty busy evening, with the audience full of well-dressed folk of wildly disparate ages- mainly female and in very fine voice each time vocalist Patrick Monahan pulled a rock move or hit a high note.
