The Smith Street Band– Australian Tour – September/October 2015

ssb
After collaborating on the track “The Belly Of Your Bedroom”, from their 2011 debut, No One Gets Lost Anymore, The Smith Street Band returns to join forces with Lucy Wilson (The Sugarcanes) to release a new digital and 7-inch single, “I Scare Myself Sometimes”. Recorded during the Throw Me In The River sessions, the track is a poetic narrative through the self-effacing mind of frontman Wil Wagner. Backed by a string section, it is a tale of heartbreak and hope; sex, love and self-destruction. The song also comes accompanied with a new animated film clip created by Celeste Potter (Courtney Barnett, DZ Deathrays, Regurgitator), who also illustrated the 7”s cover.

Gay Paris announce New Album + National Tour

Gayparis01
Spring whispers in her cave, licking the frost from her child (and what an awful and squalling beast this child is). With said neonate firmly swaddled in sackcloth and ashes, Gay Paris are hitting the road, September through December, bringing the love that is Satan and a celebration of free will to Australia in the most rambunctious way imaginable. You get the rock n roll dissent you deserve (and at this point, Australia needs five courses and desert with nightcaps at the sleaziest bar in town). Riffs. Love. The Devil; you’re not alone if you want it to be otherwise.

The Darkness “Blast Of Our Kind” Australian Tour – November 2015 ** BRISBANE DATE CHANGE **

darkness

#### TOUR UPDATE ####
‘’BLAST OF OUR KIND Tour ’’
BRISBANE 2015 – DATE CHANGE:
SHOW MOVED TO SUNDAY 8th NOVEMBER

UK rock heroes The Darkness are distraught to announce that they have been banned from performing on the same day as AC/DC in Brisbane. City Health and Safety executives have decreed that the sheer power released into the atmosphere if the two bands were permitted to play at the same time would create TOO MUCH ROCK, threatening the city’s foundations and causing buildings to crumble like dog biscuits in the rain.

Furthermore, military law will be implemented, and security services will patrol the suburbs and schools confiscating riffs and power chords from the kids, in case rock readings go into the red.

The Darkness IN NO WAY condones this State-led anti-rockism. Buildings were made to crumble like dog biscuits in the rain. Riffs and power chords were born to rock free. This is our electric destiny!

But The Man has won this time. We sadly proclaim that our Brisbane show at the glorious Tivoli will be brought forward from Thursday 12th November to Sunday 8th November. All tickets will be valid for the new date, and refunds available if you are busy singing in the church choir that day. It goes without saying that AC/DC’s representatives were keen to move their show, but The Darkness are Gentlemen of Rock and would not hear of it.

Luckily, every cloud has a silver lining. Rock fans who accidentally pressed the wrong button and bought AC/DC tickets instead of The Darkness tickets will now be able to witness both mighty events! IN YOUR FACE, The Man….

Rock On Brisbane!

### Update Ends ###

THE DARKNESS, multi award winning, multi-million selling megaband formed in 2000 by The Brothers Hawkins, Frankie Poullain and (now departed) Ed Graham have had good years and bad. And some years where they didn’t actually do anything. This year is a good’un, because THE DARKNESS are back with their brand new fourth album Last of Our Kind, released in June 2015 and a new drummer Rufus Taylor (son of Queen drummer Roger Taylor), now they are back for an Australian Tour!
