DREAM ON DREAMER ”….And The Light Pulled Me Back” Tour | October-December 2014

dod
Dream On Dreamer (DOD) are pleased to announce the …And The Light Pulled Me Back Tour. After dropping the new single “Darkness Brought Me Here” to the delight of their fans, the band are pleased to follow up the huge demand with a run of 18+ and All Ages shows along the East Coast.

2014 has been a turbulent year for the band with drummer Aaron Fiocca fighting cancer and a member change with the addition of Chris Shaw (ex House Vs Hurricane) on bass. This would be too much to handle for most bands but DOD are stronger than ever and are currently busy writing their third album scheduled for release in 2015. Aaron is now fighting fit and smashing the drums with huge beats and as a whole the band are really excited for the future. DOD can’t wait to test some new material live, plus also play all the fan favorites.

Don Walker Announces ‘Live at the Caravan’ with the warm neighbourly sound of The Suave Fucks‏

Don Walker

Don Walker releases a brand new live album, recorded at Melbourne’s Caravan Club, featuring songs from the acclaimed album ‘Hully Gully’ and the vast Don Walker catalogue.

Walker has few peers, if any, in illuminating the darker underbelly of the Australian psyche, whether he’s performing with Cold Chisel, Tex, Don and Charlie or solo. Angry women, luck-chasers, heartbroken prodigals who don’t smell good and anyone who just wants to throw the afternoon away on a game of pool – they’re all still there recorded live.

Photos + Live Review | The Chantoozies @ Wests New Lambton – October 19, 2014

Words and photos by David Jackson

The Chantoozies consisting of Ally Fowler, Eve Von Bibra, Angelica Arnott and Tottie Goldsmith are back.

Taking to the stage and opening with their hit “Love The One You’re With” the girls were energetic and truly having fun. Backed by a 4 piece band their sound was full and their vocals flawless.

The set included a number of covers, most notably the girls version of The Church’s “Under the Milky Way” and a new version of the 70’s Promises classic “Baby It’s You”.

Hot Chocolate @ Wests New Lambton

Sipping hot chocolate on a cold night is anyone’s idea of pleasure, watching one of the most successful bands of the 70’s play live is perhaps double this.

With a career spanning some 44 years and a huge catalogue of hits, Hot Chocolate entered the stage. Lead by relatively new singer Kennie Simon (Simon joined as lead vocals in 2010) and followed by original members Patrick Olive (Bass), Harvey Hinsley (guitarist) and Tony Connor (drummer), they opened the set with “Everyone’s a Winner”.

NOFX Announce Australian Tour – November 2014 – Supports Announced

nofx

NOFX formed in Los Angeles back in 1983, a helluva year for new bands and one that gave birth to Alcatrazz, Trixter, White Lion, and any number of bands that are completely defunct and irrelevant in this day and age. That alone says something about NOFX‘s enduring popularity. Maybe they lasted this long because they were forged in the same fiery furnaces of the L.A. hardcore scene that gave us Bad Religion, Suicidal Tendencies, Germs and Descendents. NOFX sharpened their teeth in that tumultuous talent pool until they joined forces with Epitaph in 1989 and went on to release a string of crucial punk records. Their first major breakthrough came in the form of 1990’s Ribbed, still a fan favorite, followed up by now-classics White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean and Punk in Drublic, the latter selling well over a million copies. That was a wildly successful decade for NOFX as the band popularized the Warped Tour and was the flagship band for the skate/surf/snow culture of the 1990’s.
