Phil Smith Announces Album Tour For ‘Year Of The Dog’

PhilAll great music cities have rare treats that can be found in the underground. PHIL SMITH is one of those rare treats.

The new PHIL SMITH album “Year Of The Dog” is without an emotional filter. It is stripped bare on every level in the great tradition of albums like Nick Drake’s “Pink Moon” and Ryan Adam’s “Heartbreaker”.

Since it’s release, “Year Of The Dog” has been receiving rave reviews with particular favor towards PHIL’S well-crafted songwriting. Noel Mengel from The Courier Mail described PHIL SMITH’S music as “a beautifully understated example of Americana songcraft.”

Finally! The news Veruca Salt fans have been waiting yeeeears for!

The original members of Veruca Salt, Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Steve Lack and Jim Shapiro recently announced an epic reunion tour that seems them playing their first shows together since 1998, and we are stoked to say Australia has been included in those plans which will see them here in September!

Born in Chicago in 1993 out of singer-songwriter-guitarists Louise Post and Nina Gordon’s desire for a dreamy-grunge band with influences like Big Star, My Bloody Valentine and the Pixies, they soon made the transition from cutesy pop upstarts to big league wet dream rock queens and became one of the most important bands of the 90’s in the process. Their sugary sweet vocal harmonies sat perfectly with their huge fuzzy rawk riffs and it sounded oh so good!

Closure In Moscow announce ‘Pink Lemonade’ Album + Tour

closureClosure In Moscow (CIM) are pleased to announce the release date for their sophomore full length ‘Pink Lemonade’ and the Pink Lemonade album tour. The album will be released independently through MGM on May 9th. It’s been a while between drinks, so those boffins at CIM HQ ran focus groups day and night to hone in on exactly what would satiate the hungry masses, baying for more sexy tunes from the Melbourne quintet… The results are conclusive! Turns out it’s all about quantity over quality, so this thing clocks in at over 60 minutes! That’s longer than an episode of The Block, and since that’s about to leave a gaping cultural void the guys figured it would be the perfect time to step up and slide up into that void like a warm kitten.

The Decline announce new EP And National Tour

The DeclineRabble-rousing, good times WA skate-punks The Decline are stoked to announce they’ll be unleashing a fresh 5-track EP and kicking off a national tour real soon. Pee Records are proud to present the fully crowd-funded, fully sick ‘Can I Borrow A Feeling?’ EP.

More than 8 years in and two albums deep, The Decline are a respected and recognisable name amongst the international punk community. 2013 was a stand-out year for the local stalwarts; they supported long time heroes Descendents, undertook a month-long European outing, a Japanese tour with 90’s So-Cal super-band Implants (members of Strung Out, Pulley) and an epic Australian tour with Isreali punkers Useless ID. These efforts earned them a WAMi nomination in the punk/hardcore category and ensured they came out of the gates strong in 2014, nabbing a coveted afternoon slot at the Perth Soundwave festival. It’s clear that the force rages strong with these guys.
