Hungry Kids of Hungary – “Let You Down Easy” National Tour – November 2009

Hungry Kids of Hungary   The frequent flyer miles have been piling up for the Hungry Kids of Hungary in 2009 as they zigzagged around the country on the heels of Bertie Blackman and Little Birdy as well as firming up friendships with the likes of Oh Mercy, Tom Ugly and Philadelphia Grand Jury and Washington on the massive triple j presented International Relations Tour. Now it’s time for the Brisbane-four to stand on their own eight feet, fuel up the Tarago yet again and hit the road on their own merits for The Let You Down Easy National Tour, their first ever headline jaunt.

Photo: Elize Strydom
Ball Park MusicI battled the crowds of the Valley Fiesta to round up the band members of “Ball Park Music” (BPM), who were supporting their friends “Hungry Kids of Hungary”. LMM: What’s happening in the live gig scene at the moment, have you got any recent records you have been promoting around the country?

BPM: Lately we’ve just been playing around Brisbane at the good ol venues that we love, the Troubadour and the Globe and the Troubadour, and did we mention the Troubadour?

Philadelphia Grand Jury + Washington + Hungry Kids Of Hungary @ Valley Studios, Brisbane 10 April 2009 & more : April 2009 Tour

THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS TOUR

It’s a coincidence that three of the artists recently singled out by triplejunearthed.com name-check geographical places in their titles; their position as some of the country’s best new talent is not. Handpicked by our national broadcaster to perform at the 2009 Big Day Out, rising stars PHILADELPHIA GRAND JURY, WASHINGTON and HUNGRY KIDS OF HUNGARY now join forces to present The International Relations tour.

Traversing the Eastern states in April 2009, the three bands will co-headline a tour that sees them perform in many places for the first time.

The tour culminates in a very special FREE gig at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney, recorded exclusively for triple j and filmed by triple j tv for later broadcast.
