Live Review | Bluejuice + The Aston Shuffle + Jody @ The Metro Theatre, Sydney – October 26, 2014

Review by Scott Singh
Bluejuice @ The Metro Theatre, Sydney
It is hard to summarise the night that was spent watching the glorious men of Bluejuice give it their all at the Metro Theatre for the last time, only because the night was filled with so much substance that I know something will linger past this review and remain with those who witnessed the show.

To start off the night, the relatively fresh band Jody welcomed the crowd with a breezy disposition, drawing a great likeness to the summer-indie image that more developed bands have owned. This kind of familiarity did take away from the experience the band was trying to deliver.

Thirsty Merc @ Wests, New lambton
Give me twenty good reasons, well to be honest after last night I could give you four hundred. That was the size of the crowd that ventured out on a Wednesday night and witnessed this unique three piece last night on stage in Newcastle.

Photos + Live Review | The Chantoozies @ Wests New Lambton – October 19, 2014

Words and photos by David Jackson

The Chantoozies consisting of Ally Fowler, Eve Von Bibra, Angelica Arnott and Tottie Goldsmith are back.

Taking to the stage and opening with their hit “Love The One You’re With” the girls were energetic and truly having fun. Backed by a 4 piece band their sound was full and their vocals flawless.

The set included a number of covers, most notably the girls version of The Church’s “Under the Milky Way” and a new version of the 70’s Promises classic “Baby It’s You”.

Live Review | The Tea Party @ Palais Theatre, Melbourne – October 12, 2014

Review by Ben Connolly
The Tea Party - Enmore Theatre, Sydney
The Tea Party set kicks off with a new album (“The Ocean at The End” ) sandwich of The L.O.C. and The Black Sea (with a filling of perennial favourite The Bazaar) highlighting just how crunchy the new offering is. Gone is the flowery bloat and overly-earnest emotive slather which marred the late-career albums, in its stead a return to the screeching wail of a well-throttled Les Paul backed by a thumping backline.
