Tour News : Stephen Cummings – ‘A Life is a Life’ Tour 2019

Stephen Cummings has all of his ducks in a row! Armed with his first taste of music in a few years courtesy of brand new (and 20th overall) solo album Prisoner Of Love, it’s as if Stephen Cummings has turned full circle.

Indeed Prisoner Of Love shows there’s a lot of life left in Stephen, who released his first solo album in 1984. It crackles with a vitality that artists half his age would love to have. It’s a tight and concise 10 tracks, though it’s loaded with wry observations on life, love and pain.

Prisoner Of Love will be followed by the release of the long awaited career anthology A Life Is A Life, which showcases 50 tracks from across Stephen Cummings’ indelible solo career on a deluxe 4CD set with 60 page booklet (25 Tracks on double vinyl). Each copy of this strictly limited release will be signed and numbered by Stephen.

And equally importantly Stephen is excited to be taking the new album and his extensive catalogue on the road in April & May. In what is rumoured to be his final national band tour, Stephen has been charming audiences on the A Day On The Green shows with Bryan Ferry in the past week, as noted by the Daily Review:

“The enigmatic Stephen Cummings, who forgets and repeats lyrics these days, is no less engaging for it. Audiences moaned in response to Cummings’ revelation that the upcoming tour for highly regarded new album, Prisoner Of Love, will be his last. Here’s hoping the eccentric 64-year-old’s studio output continues (and that ‘live retirement’ will be John Farnham length).”
