Ross Henry – New Single ‘Flux’

Following on from releasing his standout single ‘The Deep’, Sydney-based musician, Ross Henry, has just returned to unveil his latest cut ‘Flux’ – a completely self-produced effort recorded at the producer’s Stanmore home studio.

‘Flux’ once again showcases Henry’s ability to distinguish himself from the crowd, melding eclectic electronic soundscapes with warm and delicate vocals, resulting in his own brand of ambient, experimental electronica.

Henry describes the inspiration and story behind the song –

“I’ve come to realise that the music I make tends to cultivate, celebrate or create safe spaces. Everyone deserves a place to live, to feel at home and express themselves free from ridicule and discrimination. The first track from this series of thought looks at the biggest safe space we have: the planet….’Flux’ looks at the idea of Earth fluctuating between a series of states over time. What was once a hot, poisonous, ball of dust devoid of free oxygen eventually became a safe space for life, however the planet is always in a state of flux, both favouring and disfavouring its inhabitants.”

Henry’s previous singles have garnered strong support from worldwide and local tastemakers including Stereofox (USA), Sunset in the Rearview (USA), Pilerats, MTV and triple j. Previous cut ‘The Deep’ was added to Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds’ playlist, which resulted in a charting position via Spotify’s Global ‘Viral 50’.

Amongst writing and recording new music, Henry has kept a busy live schedule, including a recent main support slot to Melbourne producer, Owen Rabbit at his sold out Sydney show. As an avid supporter of small local venues, the songsmith will be officially launching ‘Flux’ at Chippendale’s Knox Bar on March 17th.
