Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins confirmed for 2013 ARIA Awards

Grammy Award winning super-producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins has confirmed he will be in Australia. His first public appearance will be presenting at the 2013 ARIA Awards this Sunday, 01 December 2013.

An acknowledged virtuoso in the music industry, Jerkins began his career at the tender age of 15. Tireless in his work ethic, the prolific young Jerkins quickly established himself as a formidable musical force, with a trail of outstanding accomplishments.

A wildly successful producer, songwriter and musician, Jerkins has been an in-demand producer since the early part of his career. His discography reads like a who’s who of musical royalty. He has added to the hit lists of music talents suchas Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Whitney Houston, Cher, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child, The Spice Girls, N’Sync, Gwen Stefani, Fantasia, Ludacris, Jamie Foxx, Monica, Ciara, Joe, Ray J and Australian Pop-Queen Kylie Minogue. Most impressively, his production contributions have garnered over 200 million in record sales worldwide.

Jerkins has lent his formidable talents to cinematic music, having contributed music to numerous movie soundtracks. Amongst them are the films Honey, Scary Movie 3, Blue Streak, and Rush Hour 1 & 2. Rodney was the Executive Producer of the score and soundtrack for the hit film Confessions Of A Shopaholic. He appeared as a producer and mentor on season 5 of American Idol. He was also a judge and mentor on the MTV hit show “Diddy’s Starmaker”.

Most recently, Rodney Jerkins has produced Mariah Carey’s latest single entitled “The Art of Letting Go”. He will also be appearing in Justin Bieber’s upcoming film “Believe” after contributing four songs on Justin’s BELIEVE album. Jerkins also contributed to Justin’s music mondays producing his latest single “Rollercoaster” which charted at number 1 in the US on iTUNES this week.

Jerkins will be in Australia to work with a variety of Australian recording artists and will be attending industry events including the 2013 ARIA Awards and will be the special guest at APRA’s SongHubsinitiative.
