Peaches (DJ-Set) and Tenniscoats for Frankly! – Brisbane Powerhouse 12 Sep 2009

TAKE A SWEET & JUICY BITE OF THIS LINE-UP
Electro punk phenomena, Peaches (DJ Set) and Japan’s post-folk darlings The Tenniscoats are heading our way to tear up the Turbine Platform.

Peaches, the high priestess of the original dirty classic, swings this way to the beat of a DJ with a quick stint of her euroslick DJ shows.

In a sweat soaked electro-rock tussle amid sheets of Peaches madness she lets loose a howl of a groove. She is renowned for her remix and production prowess and, for the first time, Australia bears witness to a tour of DJ mayhem in a sizzling mixture of electro, hip-hop and rock as presented inimitably by Peaches.

Some say listening to Japan’s Tenniscoats is like discovering the meaning of song for the first time. Their softly swerving melodic journeys are carefully crafted and composed to create one of the most original visions of post-folk pop music in the 21st century.

Live sets are electric with equal doses freeform improvisation, reflective harmonies and outright psychedelic energy.

The line-up for Frankly! Pop Festival also includes Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu), I Heart Hiroshima, Nika Saya (Japan), The Pancakes (HK) and more…
