Brisbane’s lap-sliding journeyman Pat Tierney returns with his brand new single “The World Don’t Owe You Nothin” on October 1st and is taking his brand of folk, acoustic, blues and roots on the road once more to take his story to familiar faces and new.
“The World Don’t Owe You Nothin” is a laid back, but energising bluesy harp and guitar number, all about how things could be worse and you could be in a worse position in life, so keep those less fortunate in your heart and a smile on your face. It’s a feel good tune with a great sing along chorus.
The track will be available on iTunes, Tierney’s Bandcamp Website and triple j unearthed.
Tierney’s music is heartfelt, genuine and carefully crafted – he has an innate ability to tell stories through music brimming with old time folk and blues influences.
While the creation of his music may pay homage to the likes of Ben Harper, Harry Manx & Bob Marley, Pat’s laid back and individual sound shines through on his self-produced EP ‘Take On The World’, released in June 2012.
Pat has enjoyed a steady rise on the local and national scene after consistent radio airplay and numerous East Coast Tours from South East Queensland to Tasmania. Pat also appeared at 2High Festival in Brisbane in November 2012 and ever the entrepreneur, was the mastermind behind a very successful 50 year Bob Dylan tribute show titled ‘I Shall Be Released’ at Black Bear Lodge.
Pat is not only an accomplished songwriter and recording artist, he has performed alongside some of Australia’s best on stages far afield from his home base – Pat has supported the likes of Husky, Bonjah, Ash Grunwald and Good Oak.
