MEAT LOAF – GUILTY PLEASURE TOUR

Buy Meat Loaf merchandise here!
Some people think big. Some people think huge. Then there’s Meat Loaf.

While other artists may have tried to match his scale and sound, so far none have come close. Happily, he’s heading back to Australia & New Zealand for a massive run of arena and A Day On The Green winery shows proudly presented by The Frontier Touring Company and Roundhouse.

Meat Loaf certainly requires no introduction, he burst onto the world music stage in 1977 with his landmark release Bat Out of Hell, which transformed him from a stage actor into a rock ‘n’ roll icon. This album has sold more than 43 million copies worldwide and is the third biggest selling record of all time, selling in excess of 200,000 copies a year! Significantly, it is still the number one selling international album in Australia with 1,610,000 copies sold and has been awarded 23 x Platinum status.

You Me At Six and We The Kings – Australian Tour – August/September 2011 | Tour Info & Tickets

Since their inception in 2007, YOU ME AT SIX have turned heads worldwide with their unique take on pop punk, with “intricate guitar riffs, well placed beats, and a catchy chorus, what more could you ask for?” – Messamusic. The sounds emanating from their latest album ʻHold Me Downʼ give the picture of a band who are proud to have learned their trade the old-fashioned way “and they deserve the right to be in the position they have found themselves in… as a pop-rock powerhouse” – Alter The Press

Colin Hay – “Gathering Mercury” – Album Review

Review by: Ben Connolly

There’s a warmth to Colin Hay’s vocals which instantly resonates. There’s no confusion as to what’s to be expected when an acoustic guitar and that Scottish-via-Sydney vocal kicks in. Like others of his ilk – namely Robert Forster, Paul Kelly and to a lessor extent The Church’s Steve Kilbey – his peculiar brand of Australian-ness swells the heart and instantly proves to be a soothing salve.

Suffering from an abundance of talent by a fairly lackadaisical approach to career direction, Hay’s name seems to have dropped out of the contemporary consciousness. Save for the odd appearance on an American sitcom (he seems to be the darling of the US medical satire Scrubs) and a recent legal stoush thanks to an opportunistic claim for copyright infringement, Hay has been relatively out of the public eye since the 1985 implosion of Men at Work.

Frankly! It’s A Pop Festival – 2011 (Brisbane Festival)

Frankly! is back for Brisbane Festival 2011 with more esoteric songstresses, enigmatic audio mavericks and otherwise audacious pop deconstructionists. The 2011 festival features a collection of visionary artists and bands from the USA, Japan and Australia.

Making its debut in 2009 and graduating its sophomore year with acts such as Xiu Xiu, High Places and Crayon Fields, Frankly! quickly raised eyebrows in Australia’s indie scene for its innovative program and unique setting at Brisbane’s Powerhouse.
