Following on from releasing their highly-praised new single ‘Pieces’, NSW North Coast-based electronic group, Nocturnal Tapes have just unveiled the accompanying video.
Directed by Darcy Conlan (Impel Pictures), the clip follows a lonely man whose infatuation with a temptress propels him into a surreal gateway where he meets his evil doppelgänger. The leading protagonist proceeds to defend himself against his evil copy, overcome his fears and prove himself, however this obsession of honour ultimately leaves him deserted and frustrated.
The track sees Nocturnal Tapes significantly progress by introducing Tech-house influences, drawing inspiration from Caribou, The Presets and LCD Soundsystem. Since the release, ‘Pieces’ has been widely supported by the likes of triple j, community radio, Spotify and worldwide tastemaker blogs.
The duo recently completed a twelve-show East Coast tour, with majority of shows reaching capacity or selling out, and also performed at NSW Central Coast event ‘House of Voodoo’ alongside Kilter, Remi and Yahtzel.
Nocturnal Tapes are currently working on new material and will finish off the year with shows in Sydney, Byron Bay and Yamba.
