Lorde_AusTour_creditJamesLoweFollowing on from the immediate sell-out of the first of two performances at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, Kiwi chart-topper LORDE will return to Australia in April/May after wowing crowds across the US, including a pit stop at Chicago’s legendary Lollapalooza and her upcoming appearance at Coachella. Lorde is currently touring South America for Lollapalooza in Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Now Frontier Touring is delighted to announce that electronic three-piece SAFIA will join Lorde as special guest on this exciting tour!

One of the nation’s most talked about new acts, SAFIA – Benjamin Woolner, Michael John and Harry Sayers – hail from Canberra and made an immediate name for themselves in June 2013 with the release of their debut single, ‘Listen to Soul, Listen to Blues’. The track was quickly added to high rotation on triple j, climbing to #1 on iTunes electronic charts and finding its way on-air at US college radio, XFM (UK), George FM (NZ) and Amazing Radio (UK). So impressed was our national youth broadcaster with the trio that triple j crowned SAFIA the winner of 2013’s Groovin’ The Moo competition, later nominating the band for Unearthed Artist of the Year.

‘…a synth-driven force to be reckoned with.’ – triple j

‘If you’ve had the chance to see SAFIA doing their thing live, you will know that they have a lot a really great tracks up their sleeve. Pretty sure we’ll be hearing a lot more of them in 2014.’ – Acid Stag

SAFIA’s latest single, ‘Paranoia, Ghosts & Other Sounds’, is another hit – Zan Rowe’s Catch Of The Day – scoring points globally and hitting #1 on Hype Machine in March 2014.

‘With layers of splintered, treated vocals interrupting the song’s mid-paced flow for the first half, it really gets going around the 2:20 mark when a choir of processed vocals emerge out of nowhere and the whole track morphs into what sounds like a robotic symphony.’ – The Guardian

SAFIA has already graced stages alongside internationals Disclosure, Rudimental and AlunaGeorge, as well as locals Oliver Tank, Elizabeth Rose and rüfüs.

With Lorde blowing global audiences away with her infectious, brilliantly executed pop and SAFIA now joining the line-up, these shows are not to be missed!
