The long line of people queueing outside the The Tivoli in Brisbane, waiting excitedly to enter the venue was a good indication of the ever growing popularity of headline act The Jezabels. Touring on the back of their latest album release “The Brink”, the band continues to deliver quality music and live shows and tonight we would witness exactly that.

With an early time-slot of 7:30pm, support act Gang Of Youths took to the stage performing an excellent *if not all to short* set, warming the crowd and surely garnering new fans.

After a short break and with the venue now full of restless punters calling out for The Jezabels, the house lights dim and the band enters the stage. The burst of lights from the stage backdrop silhouettes singer Hayley Mary and the band kicks off with self-titled opener from their newest album The Brink and the crowds excitement explodes.

Followed by “Endless Summer” and “Long Highway” we are now immersed. Beautiful stage lighting and generous amounts of stage fog work nicely with Hayley’s raw, almost seductive dance moves. Sam Lockwood stands staunchly providing solid rhythmic guitar and echoed guitar licks filled perfectly by Heather Shannon’s keyboards all led steadily by the powerful drumming from Nik Kaloper.

There were plenty of sing-a-long moments throughout the set and for those in attendance on Tuesday night, they will leave the venue happily content from a fun night of great music.

The Jezabels live performance is tight, clean and energetic. Their years of extensive touring combined with well crafted catchy songs delivered with Hayley’s brilliant vocals leaves no doubt that The Jezabels will continue to wow fans both locally and abroad.
