Kadavar (Germany) & Blues Pills (Sweden) – Australian Tour – November/December 2013

K A D A V A R (Germany)
Over the past few years there’s been immense rise in popularity, or should I say, a wide spread re-discovery, in all things 60’s and 70’s psychedelic rock. With numerous bands blowing minds across the sea, there’s one band in particular that shines above the rest, who have fast become one of the most talked about bands in heavy music today, that band, is KADAVAR.

Hailing from Berlin, Germany, KADAVAR are a super charged psyched out power trio that look and sound like the real deal, and from a distance, very much live and breathe the rock n roll dream.

Their sudden rise to underground fame stems from a combination of infectious riff-driven 70’s hard rock and doom-like undertones reminiscent of bands like Black Sabbath and Pentagram, with a spacey psychedelic edge likened to that of early Hawkwind and Can.

Having just released their 2nd album “Abra Kadavar”, this being their 1st for heavy metal label Nuclear Blast, Kadavar have been blowing minds, selling out shows, and cleaning up rave reviews everywhere they go.

Come this November, they’re finally touring Australia.

BLUES PILLS (Sweden)
The young American-Swedish-French quartet create a very unique, intense and extraordinary rock atmosphere while at the same time having a major mainstream appeal that takes you right back to the time of BLUES PILLS’ ancestors Aretha Franklin, The Original Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Cream. Driving bass lines, grooving drums and guitar solos from another planet by the only 17 year old Dorian Sorriaux, harmonized and tied together with such easiness, such delight, by Elin’s incredible voice, sometimes singing in her mother tongue Swedish.

“Blues Pills sounds like a super group straight out of 1967 San Francisco – Big Brother and The Holding Company – thrown to the dirty floor to be mopped up by The Jimi Hendrix Experience Band. It’s great to see a band doing the ‘60s thing with such reverence for authenticity.” – Carter Kennedy, ORCHID

“The Blues Pills are one of the best female-fronted rock groups of the scene today, paying homage to the founders of 60’s and early 70’s psychedelic/hard rock music, while forging ahead into the future with their own unique sound.“ – Mike Varney, founder of SHRAPNEL RECORDS
