SuicideGirls – “the sexiest, smartest, most dangerous collection of outsider women in the world” – are bringing their Blackheart Burlesque Tour to Australia this March – 2014.

Life Music Media catch up with SuicideGirls’ Vorpal Suicide for a chat.

LMM: For those who aren’t aware, what is Suicide Girls?

Vorpal: Copied from wikipedia – “SuicideGirls is a website that features pin-up photography and profiles of alternative female models who are known as the “Suicide Girls”. The site functions as an online community with member profiles, member blogs, and the option to join networking groups based upon interests. SuicideGirls also features interviews with people from popular and alternative culture, user-submitted news articles, and an online merchandise store. Access to most of the site requires a paid membership.”

LMM: How and when did you become a Suicide Girl?

Vorpal: I became a Suicide Girl in June 2013 through a Facebook contest that I was entered into. I woke up to find my Instagram and Facebook followers posting about it. There were 12 of us entered and we needed 3000 shares on our photo. 3 girls made it through, I was one of them.

LMM: You were involved in the Blackheart Burlesque Tour in America, can you tell us more about that?

Vorpal: I woke up from a Skype call from Moon Suicide and Sean asking me to pack my bags and leave the country in 3 hours and clearly that was impossible, so I left 48 hours later, flew to LA, then to Chicago and then met up with the girls for a week, I hosted and danced in the last 5 shows.

LMM: What was your favourite part of the American Blackheart Burlesque Tour?

Vorpal: The fact that I am super shy and quiet, got thrown in the deep end and had the time of my life speaking in front of over 1000 people at each of the 5 shows i hosted. Also, going to sleep after each show and waking up in a different state was crazy. The girls were also unreal to watch perform. I loved them all.

LMM: What are you looking forward to the most with the upcoming Australian Tour?

Vorpal: Im quite nervous about hosting the tour in front of my friends and family! Although Im super excited to have the ladies out here in my country and just the vibe and love we get at every show will be incredible again.

LMM: For the uninitiated, what can people expect from the live show?

Vorpal: Its not your typical Burlesque show. Leave your expectations at the door and just enjoy yourself. You will be covered in food, alcohol and bodily fluids.

LMM: What advice would you give to someone thinking of becoming a Suicide Girl?

Vorpal: You can contact me, Vorpal@suicidegirls.com, as I am the Staff Recruiter. I can help you get a Hopeful account started and give you some starting tips and advice.

LMM: The Australian tour kicks off on March 12th in Melbourne. Is there anything you would like to say to our readers ahead of the tour?

Vorpal: Come along, enjoy yourself and make some noise, otherwise I will be making you make some noise :)
