Epidemic… Over gets The Stone rolling with video, Signing to MGM

The Stone is well and truly rolling for Epidemic… Over after the release of their Single in October. December 1st 2012 will see the online release (December 10th for it’s TV debut) of their filmclip for The Stone and March 8th, 2012 will see the release of their 5-track EP, Long Way Home, through Australian stalwart distributor, MGM Distribution.

Epidemic… Over (E…O) are a passionate, hits-you-right-in-the-heart alternative rock band from Queensland – soaring vocals to sing along with, a rhythm section to die for and delay-drenched and distorted guitar riffs to lose yourself in make them an unquestionably formidable sonic force to be reckoned with. They have shared the stage with Australia’s best alternative acts: The Butterfly Effect, Birds of Tokyo, Dead Letter Circus, Floating Me, Gyroscope, Shihad, British India, Behind Crimson Eyes, 28 Days, Calling All Cars, Electric Horse, Helm, Sydonia – the list goes on.

Long Way Home was recorded in Karibu studios in Central Queensland – a studio literally called ‘Welcome’ in Swahili tongue, which was a converted Queenslander homestead – over a month-long stay in a century-plus-old mining town named Mount Morgan. It was engineered and produced by ex-Melodyssey guitarist, Clint Vincent of Vin James Productions. While there, the Epidemic…Over quartet were made to feel welcome in the small community at the local pubs and fishing and camping spots. This relaxed atmosphere and careful construction of the final tracks has produced the band’s most triumphant and mature recordings, ready to welcome new fans and old alike into the Epidemic…Over family, alongside the four brothers-in-music.

The filmclip for The Stone will get it’s debut on TV on December 10 on Southern Cross Ten’s Landed Music (the single has had numerous spins on Landed Music’s nightly radio show, nationally) for their final show for 2011, with Bec Dent interviewing the boys in the studio while they were on the Pushing The Stone Tour. The filmclip was shot and directed by Cody Richardson (Director of Photography for The Beautiful Girls’ In Love clip and Hungry Kids of Hungary’s original Sock-Monkey filmclip for Scattered Diamonds) and Jonathan Tibbits (My Escapade’s filmclips) and edited by Matt Raimondo (Transvaal Diamond Syndicate’s Home fimclip). It was shot on location in Brisbane, throughout Newstead, Newstead Park and the Fortitude Valley and at their show at The Globe Theatre in September 2011.

While they finish up their last few live shows for 2011 with Melbourne Death-Hoppers, Over-Reactor in South-East Queensland and New Year’s Eve celebrations in Bundaberg for the always-massive Summer Beach Party at the Sugarland Tavern, the Epidemic… Over boys will be putting the final touches on the EP artwork and having it pressed and ready to hit all good music stores and online retailers in early March.
