Want horror that makes you scream for more? Then gather the finest and filthiest of bands together and unleash them to an energetic captivated audience across two states. Following the success of 2012, Drunken Moon Festival is set to continue to promote the best live performers in the punk/roots/blues/garage/rock/’abilly’s live scene with a beautifully menacing line up just announced for the 2013 event.
The pleasure pit of James Grim, who through extensive touring with his seminal punk/blues outfit Brothers Grim and the Blue Murders, collects fellow troubadours of the stage over one year and pulls them all together onto one bill for two shows only, Drunken Moon features acts from Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and more. The prerequisite for band selection is simple; they have to be outstanding musically, exceptional performers and even better company when propping up a bar.
This year Drunken Moon will be held at key music venues that have always supported the best independent music Oz has to offer, namely Melbourne’s The Espy and Brisbane The Joynt. Given the size of the event, The Joynt will be extending its floor space by adding on a huge extra roped off area out the back of the venue to allow for larger capacity.
Drunken Moon is a live spectacle and if you like one band on the line up you’ll love the others. Besides being Brothers Grim’s last shows before taking a well earned hiatus from touring, Drunken Moon 2013 also boasts acts like King of the North, Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk, Digger & the Pussycats, Batpiss, Mesa Cosa, La Bastard, The Floors and many more you wished you’d have heard of already.
