DEMI-MONDE @ MOJOs, Fremantle – August 5, 2010

In Early 2009 whilst walking Fremantle’s flamboyant streets, Ozjam creator Chris ‘Crispy’ Wilks heard an encapsulating voice singing Sade’s ‘No Ordinary Love’ – it was the dynamic vocals of Tania Walker. Having learnt her first guitar chords at 12 from then fellow busker John Butler, had no.1 hits in the Pacific Islands and recently returned from a stint in New York performing at the world renowned Blue Note Cafe she was ready take her world class voice in a new direction.

Working with Crispy, Tania set about auditioning musicians to form the exuberant act which is DEMI-MONDE, comprising of Dave Webb (drums) who has supported the English rock band Reef (place your hands) , Mat Adams (bass), and Billie Kiagoes (guitar) who has played alongside Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme).

To date the band has performed at the much loved, eclectic live music venue Mojo’s and captivated the Freo crowds with exhilarating live shows.

In only a short period of time this talented foursome have recorded the 3 track single ‘Core of Me’ which was engineered & produced by Shaun O’Callaghan at Studio Couch (Eskimo Joe, Gyroscope). They also have one outstanding album up their sleeve of which recording will commence in June. . . Big things are expected from this Rock quartet in 2010!

DEMI-MONDE will bring their stylised sounds to MOJO’s on Thursday 5th August, a sure fire treat for the senses and not to be missed as the juggernaut begins its roll!
