Australian singer/songwriter Danielle Spencer will join Sir Bob Geldof & Jon Stevens for the Rock & Rebuild one-off charity concert at Lyric Theatre Sydney on May 1. Spencer and band will open the evening performing songs from her debut album ‘White Monkey’ and her current album ‘Calling All Magicians’.
In an effort to provide hope and inspiration to communities affected by recent natural disasters in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, all monies raised through ticket sales and donations will support; the Australian Red Cross for their Victoria Floods Appeal, New Zealand Earthquake Appeal and Japan and Pacific Disaster Appeal as well as to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Fund.
“I’m delighted to have been asked to take part in such a worthwhile event. The recent disasters in Australia, New Zealand and Japan have been devastating and heartbreaking and it’s now time to come together and do all we can to help rebuild those communities.” Said Spencer of her involvement.
Having spent much of last year in the UK promoting the release of ‘Calling All Magicians’ Spencer performed on high rating TV shows such as ‘This Morning’, ‘BBC Breakfast’ and ‘Live at Studio 5’. Picked up radio airplay on BBC London, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4 and received glowing reviews.

Having warmed the band up in the UK and then at home late last year with some small shows in Sydney & Melbourne and last month supporting Chris Isaak on a run of outdoor shows in NSW, VIC & QLD, Spencer is excited about continuing to perform live in Australia this year and is working on plans for a run of headline shows of her own in the not too distant future.
