Blame Ringo – Brisbane Powerhouse Residency – June 2011

Brisbane boys Blame Ringo are set to wow the Powerhouse with their three- week residency this June. After the release of their 2010 album Too Strange for Avery, Blame Ringo have shunned their folk-pop sounds and tweed jackets. Together with a new line-up featuring Greg Chiapello (Montpelier), Andrew Stone (Montpelier) and Tony Garrett (The Boat People), their new sound has but one goal, to make you sing along.

The first insight into their newly birthed ‘Powerhouse Pop’ was seen earlier in the year when they starred in Queensland theme park Dreamworld’s television commercial. Since, Blame Ringo have shifted focus from their off-kilter folk to marrying infectious hooks with marching beats and a dash of irony. This is set to culminate in a first-ever EP for the band, due late 2011.

Punters have multiple upcoming opportunities to see the lads do their thing, with a three-show, Friday afternoon residency and the Powerhouse, an appearance at Unconvention and a spot on The Red Deer Music Festival.
