Billy Fox – New Single ‘Avalanche’

One of Sydney’s most prolific emerging artists, Billy Fox, has just unveiled his latest R&B soul-infused cut ‘Avalanche’ – another exciting take on electronica-pop to add to the slew of undeniable singles released by the songwriter / producer over the past twelve-months.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of James Blake, Sam Smith and James Vincent McMorrow, ‘Avalanche’ melds an array of eclectic sounds displayed through elements of soul, pop, R&B and hip-hop; all beautifully intertwining and retaining a large focus on balance across live and electronic production.

Fox describes the writing and recording process –
“‘Avalanche’ draws on my experience with live production and features strong soul and some hip-hop elements. My first releases largely focused on electronic production, whereas with ‘Avalanche’ I’m revisiting my live roots to meld both forms of production together, which also relates directly to my live show and the way I perform my songs. I wanted people to really feel that, which is exciting moving forward into the next stages of refining my next body of work.

Local and worldwide tastemakers have heavily embraced previous singles ‘Mystery’, ‘Lights’ and ‘East Coast’, with key support coming in locally from triple j, FBi, Edge Radio, 2XX, and Pilerats and abroad from The Line Of Best Fit (UK), The 405 (UK) and The Wild Honey Pie (USA).

Billy Fox has also been working hard traversing the country supporting the likes of Glass Animals, Boo Seeka, The Aston Shuffle, Tijuana Cartel and R.W. Grace, and also recently performed at the sold out RARE FINDS showcase at OXFORD ART FACTORY alongside Deep Sea Arcade, Lime Cordiale and Owen Rabbit.

In support of the new release, Billy Fox will unveil East Coast touring dates and an accompanying music video in the coming weeks.
