BIGSOUND Surprises Again: Performances Announced for Billy Bragg, Robert Forster and Regurgitator

Just when you were packing your bags, checking your makeup and cleansing your liver ready for BIGSOUND next week, Australia’s biggest industry gathering has doubled down on musical treats, announcing live performances from seminal musicians Billy Bragg, Robert Forster and Regurgitator.

With Bragg and Regurgitator already speaking at the event, these music royals now also join the BIGSOUND festival program which includes a host of the hottest bands from Australia and beyond, including Megan Washington, Busby Marou, Calling All Cars, Mama Kin, Stonefield, The Trouble with Templeton, Adalita and many more.

Tickets for BIGSOUND’s festival program are just $69+ booking fee (presale) for two nights of music across twelve stages in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley and are available from Oztix. Full BIGSOUND tickets, which include entry to the three-day music conference, the new two-day Music+Design program, and all industry parties are also still available.

The BIGSOUND conference program will include keynotes from Billy Bragg, Amanda Palmer, Simon Raymonde and John Watson as well as presentations featuring Gurrumul, Kasey Chambers and Regurgitator, exploring the careers of some of Australia’s most popular artists. The Music+Design program will feature keynote presentations by Nick Cave (live via satellite), Vello Virkhaus (V Squared Labs) and John Warwicker (Tomato).

Whether it’s the Artisan Beer+Design pop-up lounge, the various industry gatherings each night, the free Bloody Mary Friday or now-notorious “Thursday night party” (which usually wraps up as the sun peers over the buildings), BIGSOUND is as much about what’s “off” the program as what’s on it.

Now get some rest for next week. You’re gonna need it.
