ARIA announces Final Fives in the Public Voted Awards – all systems go for the 25th Anniversary ARIA Awards!

FINAL FIVE NOMINEES ANNOUNCED IN THE PUBLIC VOTED CATEGORIES, PRESENTED BY HP AND INTEL


With only hours to go until the Australian music industry gather to rock Allphones Arena in Sydney Olympic Park for the 25TH ANNIVERSARY ARIA AWARDS, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) today announced the final five finalists in the Public Voted categories, brought to you by HP and Intel.

In the category of MOST POPULAR AUSTRALIAN ARTIST the final five nominees are ANGUS & JULIA STONE, BIRDS OF TOYKO, JESSICA MAUBOY, JUSTICE CREW and KEITH URBAN.

In the category of MOST POPULAR INTERNATIONAL ARTIST, the final five nominees are ADELE, CHRIS BROWN, LADY GAGA, LMFAO and P!NK.

In the final Public Voted category of the night, MOST POPULAR AUSTRALIAN LIVE ARTIST, fans were able to cast their vote for any Australian artist that performed live in Australia from 1 October 2010 to 30 September 2011. In total, 202 Australian artists received votes in this category with BIRDS OF TOKYO, JUSTICE CREW, KEITH URBAN, SHANNON NOLL and THE LIVING END making the final five.

Music fans can expect a magical night with the induction of KYLIE MINOGUE and THE WIGGLES into the ARIA HALL OF FAME, and performances by GOTYE and KIMBRA (the first time they’ve performed the hit Somebody That I Used to Know on television), DRAPHT, BOY & BEAR, ART vs SCIENCE, GURRUMUL with MISSY HIGGINS, CUT COPY, THE LIVING END and GUY SEBASTIAN.

They’re set to join PRIME MINISTER JULIA GILLARD, DAVID WENHAM, STEVIE NICKS, RICHARD WILKINS, CHRISSY AMPHLETT, HAMISH & ANDY, JOEL & BENJI MADDEN, NOAH TAYLOR, DELTA GOODREM, TOM BALLARD & ALEX DYSON, IVA DAVIES, RUBY ROSE, MISSY HIGGINS, JAMES KERLEY, KATIE NOONAN, ADAM HILLS, RICKI-LEE COULTER, ERIN McNAUGHT and MOLLY MELDRUM for the Australian music community’s night of nights.

For the first time ever, music fans will be able to watch the drama unfolding backstage with Optus providing a dedicated mobile video stream direct from the Awards night ceremony which will be hosted by JABBA. As well as exclusive interviews and footage, the Optus mobile video stream will complement the free-to-air GO! broadcast of the event which will also be available to watch on any 3G mobile.
