YWCA NSW have announced the return of its annual fundraising concert, A Night at the Rock Opera, on Monday, 24 November, 2014, at the State Theatre in Sydney.

For music fans who can’t get enough of The Who, Queen, Frankie Valley and Pink Floyd, you can’t get closer to the anthemic rock experience than A Night at the Rock Opera.

A Night at the Rock Opera is more homage than tribute to these great songs with 18 of our greatest vocalists taking the stage to belt out 20 dead set anthems, with music courtesy of an insanely versatile band capable of brining to life the most intricate rock pieces with effortless ease, led by Colin Coorie (Musical Director and keys) and boasting Gordon Rytmeister (drums), Dario Bortolin (bass), Jak Housden (guitar) and Wendy Anggerani (keys).

A Night at the Rock Opera covers some of the biggest musicals/movies including Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, The Wall, Jersey Boys, Rocky Horror Show, Rock of Ages, Strictly Ballroom, Godspell and We Will Rock You. And the party is assured when you get to include these wonderful, supportive performers who are confirmed to take the stage on the night (in alphabetical order):

YWCA NSW CEO, Anna Bligh, said today “This year is no exception – we’re putting the “fun” into fundraising. We have some great acts lined up – so come along, dance and sing and raise money for our many important programs – it’s a night you won’t want to miss.”
