Every year in Brisbane Australia, something exciting and flavorsome erupts throughout the course of one weekend. Fresh fish, melt-in-your-mouth prawns, and decadent oysters come together with a variety of wine and musical performances to create the iconic Caxton Street Seafood and Wine Festival.
 
 
Now in its 15th year, thousands of people are expected to swarm to Brisbane’s most famous party precinct in true Aussie fashion.

Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend, this year’s Festival – to be held on 3 May – promises to be bigger and better with more delicious seafood, wine and a first-class line up of entertainment.

The event commences at 11.30 and features the finest Blues, Roots, Hip Hop Jazz and feature recording Artists across THREE stages By Day.

Doors open at 11am, with the entertainment kicking off at 11:30 and wrapping up around 10pm.

The 2009 Entertainment lineup will feature an eclectic mix of Artists during the day that include, ARIA nominated Diva, GRACE KNIGHT who together with her band produces mouth watering jazz to spice up your afternoon!

The Iconic KEVIN BORICH (back to his solo Jazz n’ Blues roots), performs a special set he prepared to launch the festival around 11:30am. TYRONE NOONAN returns from London to join his Jazz Ensemble “Palimpsest”.

Bringing international acclaim to the Caxton Street Seafood and Wine Festival, Tyron’s act is one NOT to miss!

ROBBIE JAMES (Singer and song writer from GANGgajang) crafts a mesmerizing acoustic jazz set with partner RED.

KATE BRADLEY and the Goodbye Horse sets a sumptuous diverse roots mood. Kate and band are fresh from their ground breaking National Big Day Out performances.

THE WINNIE COOPERS will satisfy the palate of even the most discerning funk connoisseurs.

The renowned MASON RACK Blues band will be catapulting themselves into their Global Assault basing themselves in Canada from July this year. This farewell gig at the festival will rock!

OMNI ANTI featuring members from “The Resin Dogs” sprinkle an infectious groove over the Brisbane autumn afternoon!

SOULZU are Big Bold and Brassy where 12 performers equal one beautiful harmonious SOUL EXPERIENCE.

THE ZOO KEEPERS, local family outfit DOZZI and TROUBLE KARMA FLOW cap off a wonderful afternoon of kicking back in the Brisbane autumn sunshine to sweet Caxton Street sounds.

The sun goes down and the street comes to life opening the night bill with an EXCLUSIVE appearance (first time solo in Brisvegas) and undeniably this year’s feature act, the inimitable KRAM! You will know Kram as the lead singer for legendary OZ band SPIDERBAIT. This enigmatic front man who is all at once a singer, drummer, prolific songwriter, entertainer and master of ceremonies, has been trapped behind the drum kit for all these years and finally let loose on the general public.

A veritable grab bag of your favorites’ tunes is what it is, fun, catchy, quirky, up – vibe positive tunes, thigh slapping with every song has a hook you want to grab on to and can sing along with in a few minutes. THE DUKES OF WINDSOR contribute their fresh innovative new sounds including that infuriatingly catchy single remixed into an ARIA and APRA nominated chart smash and dance floor annihilator to the stellar lineup!

Australia’s very own “band of brothers” OP25 (Featuring Daniel Amalm from Underbelly, Two Fists One Heart & New Channel 9 series Rescue) bring their unique brand of Heavy Rap and Rock to turn on the party in the Street!

Australian Summer Festival favourites Roger That will debut on the Street with their unique blend of rock reggae. GOLD Coast trio Enacio, firm favorites around South East Qld for their infectious songs and energetic stage antics throw progressive funk rock to the mix on the Street.

Caxton Street stalwarts Latin Fire add a dash of vibrant South American rhythms while Joe T and the boys from Afrodisa infuse Afro Caribbean energy into the afternoon.

What better way to top off the party with 4 Play DJs featuring Jimmy Z – one of the most influential names in Australian dance music at the moment. Wild FM, Nova to B 105 – 4Play is fast becoming one of the most successful commercial dance brands in the nation.
