Epidemic… Over – Pushing The Stone Tour | October-December 2011

Epidemic… Over (E…O) are about to cast off the chains of regional living and push The Stone all over this fair land. On Friday October 28, coinciding with their Brisbane launch gig date at The Tempo Hotel, their new catchy-as-hell, driving radio single The Stone will be released onto the world digitally, via iTunes and Bandcamp.

The boys, originating straight out of the heartland of Central Queensland, will take the single up and down the East Coast of Australia, hitting Central and South-East Queensland, Northern NSW, Sydney and surrounds and Melbourne and it’s outlying areas, playing with bands such as US Metal act All Shall Perish and Melbourne Death-Hop 2-piece Over-Reactor (fronted by Ezekiel Ox) along the way.

The Stone is the first cut from Long Way Home, a 5-track EP and an amazing leap forward for the four brothers- in-music. The single is all about the stones thrown at you in everyday life. The ones that hurt, the ones that knock you down, but you get back up. “You can’t throw stones at me” comes the catch-cry of the track, a defiant chant that lifts the spirits of the oppressed, judged and down-trodden. It was recorded and produced by Clint Vincent of Melodyssey.

Long Way Home will be available in February 2012 in stores and online. It was recorded in Karibu studios in Central Queensland – a studio literally called ‘Welcome’ in Swahili tongue, which was a converted Queenslander homestead – over a month-long stay in a century-plus-old mining town named Mount Morgan. While there, the Epidemic… Over quartet were made to feel welcome in the small community at the local pubs and fishing and camping spots. This relaxed atmosphere and careful construction of the final tracks has produced the band’s most triumphant and mature recordings, ready to welcome new fans and old alike into the Epidemic… Over family.

Epidemic… Over are a passionate, hits-you-right-in-the-heart alternative rock band – soaring vocals to sing along with, a rhythm section to die for and delay-drenched and distorted guitar riffs to lose yourself in make them an unquestionably formidable sonic force to be reckoned with.

E…O’s commitment to quality rock songs with solid rock guitar grooves, driving rhythm section and soaring vocals has seen them share the stage with Australia’s best alternative acts: The Butterfly Effect, Birds of Tokyo, Dead Letter Circus, Floating Me, Gyroscope, Shihad, British India, 28 Days, Behind Crimson Eyes – the list goes on.

The tour kicks off in Gold Coast and Brisbane for the launch gigs at the Tattered and Torn Festival at Beach House Tavern 23rd October and Tempo Hotel, Brisbane 28th October, before setting off into New South Wales and Victoria before a triumphant return to familiar surrounds throughout Central Queensland between Bundaberg and Mackay.
