Australian rock heavyweights ‘The Butterfly Effect’ celebrate their tenth anniversary this year.
It’s hard to believe a decade has passed since the quartet first hit the airwaves with “The Cell’ and ‘Take It Away’ from their top selling self titled debut EP in 2001. The EP was well supported by Triple J, which led to wider recognition for the band nationwide. |
By mid-2002 the EP had topped the independent charts and remained in the top 20 for almost a year with sales exceeding 10,000 copies.
Since this time, the Brisbane-based rockers have toured relentlessly in Australia and overseas cementing their standing and reputation as one of the most powerful and consistent live bands in the land. Fast-forward to 2011 and the band can proudly reflect on their many achievements over their ten-year journey together.
TBE have achieved three gold selling albums, two national top five chart albums, two albums in Triple J’s Hottest 100 Australian Albums Of All Time, performed over one thousand shows and amassed very Impressive catalogue sales in excess of 250,000 copies
As part of their anniversary, The Butterfly Effect wants to celebrate with their fans. They have announced a series of live dates throughout October. After that they will record their highly anticipated fourth album over summer with a projected mid 2012 release.
On this tour, fans can expect to hear all of their favourite songs plus a preview of new tracks from their forthcoming album.
