The Bank Holidays Release Sophomore Album

Pop luminaries The Bank Holidays will release their much anticipated sophomore album Sail Becomes A Kite on 17 July 2010 via Lost and Lonesome Recording Co.

Hailing from Perth, The Bank Holidays recorded Sail Becomes A Kite with Martin Roth at ABC Studios Perth, and Steve Bond (The Panics, Snowman) at Cazfair House.

Sail Becomes A Kite is a surprising left turn for The Bank Holidays, whose previous output has been exemplified by a giddy joyousness. A reflective second album, the band opts for autumnal hues in place of its usual summery sparkle. Still present however, among the moodier, more filmic atmosphere is the band’s indisputable grasp of melody and compelling song-writing.

Over the years The Bank Holidays have shown their wears playing shows with Peter Bjorn & John, Caribou, Belle & Sebastian, Sarah Blasko, Machine Translations and The Lucksmiths; have toured Germany, Scandinavia and the UK; and took out the 2007 WAMi Award for ’Best Indie Pop Group’.

Sail Becomes A Kite is the sound of The Bank Holidays at their tender best.
