The Australian Centre for the Moving Image’s (ACMI) blockbuster Melbourne Winter Masterpieces show Tim Burton: The Exhibition will present three special late-night events leading up to the closing of the exhibition on Sunday 10 October, 2010.

The late night events will see Thursday, Friday and Saturday editions of the popular weekly Burton Club from 6pm until midnight to coincide with the extended opening hours of the exhibition, also open until midnight for those three days. These events, from Thursday 7 October, are designed to allow visitors a final chance to see this extraordinary show or re-live the experience one last time.

World’s Funniest Island is a very special comedy event staged over one weekend on Cockatoo Island in the middle of Sydney Harbour and brings together over 180 acclaimed Australian and International comedy artists. International talent includes Police Academy legend Michael Winslow, the return of the hit show Allah Made Me Funny, five-time Emmy Award nominee Will Durst and six hilarious stand-out new US comics. Also joining the lineup is the incredible comic mind-reading Philip Escoffey from London in ‘Six Impossible Things Before Dinner’.

Aussie headliners include The Umbilical Brothers, Wil Anderson, the world premiere of viral hit sensation Beached Az Bro Live, Lady Julia Morris, Fiona O’Loughlin, Heath “Chopper” Franklin, Axis of Awesome, Tom Ballard, Tom Gleeson, Mikey Robbins and Claire Hooper.

Singer/Songwriter, Ben Kweller was born in San Francisco, CA in 1981. Kweller was exposed to music at a very early age. By his teenage years, Kweller had released two albums and EP with his band Radish, not beginning his solo career until the age of 19. His heartland hooks and folksy flourishes made fans out of several artists, and Kweller soon found himself touring with the likes of Juliana Hatfield, Guster, Kristin Hersh, and Evan Dando.

Sleepy, seaside fishing village gets its loudest wakeup call yet as Pikelet helps launch the first of the line up and some exciting new developments for the 14th annual Queenscliff Music Festival.

The first round of artists for this year’s Queenscliff Music Festival have been revealed as well as a number of exciting, new announcements at a special launch event on Tuesday 10th August, held at Melbourne’s Transit Lounge, where the incomparable girl-with-the-loop-pedal, Evelyn Morris aka.Pikelet, dangled the musical carrot with a Festival preview performance.The 2010 festival line up when completed will deliver over 80 acts presenting 150 performances in 13 venues across Queenscliff on the weekend of 26-27-28 November.
